I've just always seemed to have issues with the center channel needing level adjustments on my AVR's. It's never where I want it to be. Now the Audesy setup that the Denon runs with the calibrating mic gets it much closer, but I'm still having to go in and do a manual boost of 2db - 3dB on it.
But for some strange reason, they seemed to have gotten the levels correctly calibrated from the factory on my el-cheapo (well, not so cheap) Samsung 5.1-in-a-box system that I use in the bedroom. I've never had to mess with them on it.
But it's like comparing a Porsche to a Pinto when comparing the capabilities of that system vs. the Denon setup in the living room, so we're not talking apples to apples here by any stretch of the imagination.
