So I answered an ad in the paper for "guitarist wanted". I had probably 20 songs written... not written down just I had 20 songs I made up and remembered, lol... Anyway, I met the guy, Bill, and we became friends and started recording immediately. He played the drums and bass and I played the guitar and did the vocals. We met once a week in his shed/studio lol, and we did a song a day. So in 20 weeks we had 20 songs lol. Not sure how many we ended up with. I met a girl and that pretty much ended things.
But a few weeks ago I found an old song we did that somehow my computer archived. I have no idea why its even on here unless Bill emailed it to me or something. Anyway I found some stock video footage and made a youtube video to surprise him, lol.
Anyway, this is one of the first songs we did. I might have it set to private on youtube, I'm not sure but I think you could still see it. All of it is mic'ed. I had a homemade amp and a Les Paul. We had a digital recorder that he bought from Daryl Hall (Hall and Oates). His father was a producer in the 60's. So he had some contacts. This is definitely one of the more "rock" style songs we did. For this particular song we were going to go back and redo the vocals and lyrics (and pretty much everything else) but we never got around to it. Everything was always first take. I hated that. lol but we got a lot done... but never happy with any song we did because of all the mistakes and subpar stuff.
