Yeah I thought the director just did a marvelous job with the feel of the movie.. and he didn't even have Robert Shaw, Richard Dreyfuss, or Roy Scheider to work with..

Yeah, you never do know with dogs, which makes them so interesting and lovable.. Every time we've lost a dog we've always made the comment, "there will never be another Lucie" or another Barney etc.. because they all have such unique qualities that make them special.. but, I always find comfort in that whatever dog we get in the future will have SOME special quality, some personality trait or habit, that makes that dog just as special in his/her own way.. that always makes me feel a little bit better..

When we lost Lucie in December, it really felt like (and still does) that our world had fallen apart.. she was just so special in so many ways.. never met another dog like her - probably never will.. BUT.. we adopted Gypsie in February and there was something in her shelter photos that was channeling Lucie.. I couldn't put my finger on it - my wife didn't see it at all..

But, after we adopted her, we both saw it.. Gypsie is so remarkably similar to Lucie - in habits, traits, looks etc.. Its so weird.. sometimes we think Lucie was reincarnated in Gypsie, but Gypsie is 4 years old, so not possible.. But we are so thankful and delighted to have her in our lives, and she reminds us so much of Lucie, its like a double treat.. every day...
