..and I'm so happy that your grandsons were touched by the movie..
I know you were probably expecting an "Old Yeller" or "Marley and Me" kind of sadness from Hachi, but I thought it was a very positive and touching sadness.. The loyalty Hachi felt was truly inspiring to me.. I know our dogs wouldn't do what he did unless there were biscuits involved somewhere..
So, I'm really wondering what you thought about the soundtrack.. I thought the scores they played when showing things from Hachi's point of view were amazing.. Playful, sad, emotional etc.. it was like I could "feel" the emotions Hachi felt.. I know I had those scores going through my head for weeks after the first time I saw the movie..
I also remember immediately ordering the movie on DVD after watching it.. My wife, who was bawling her eyes out asked me why I wanted a copy of it, considering it was such an emotional movie.. I replied to her that I wanted a copy of ANY movie that could touch me and make me feel the emotions Hachi did, to which she agreed..
Anyways, so glad your grandsons like it.. if you do go to Hachi's memorial, I definitely want a photo of it...
Friendship is like peeing your pants.. Everybody can see it, but only you can feel the warmth..
