BBQ'ing... been a while since we discussed this....

January 26, 2023 06:29AM
Going to a fresh seafood market today - in the big city - Fresno. My granddaughter is going to make "Crab Broil" this evening.

So while talking to my son about fish I might pick up today while there and how to cook it he came up with something I've never heard of.. maybe you have?

Since I'm dieting I asked him how to cook Halibut, (maybe my favorite fish), without breading and deep frying. He answered, "Cedar Plank"... which completely threw me for a loop... I had never heard of that.

You get 'untreated' cedar planks, (specifically for cooking), soak them for a minimum on one hour in water... then place it on the BBQ with the fish (food) on top. My son said it adds a great and NOT overpowering smoky flavor.

I've never had it... but it 'sounds' fantastic to me. Any of you ever try this? - JamesJM
