Spearing a record Yellowfin Tuna

My closest friend-since grammar school-speared this guy while free diving off an island a couple hundred miles south of the tip of Cabo. Free diving-the fish was roughly 60 ft down and the light was fading around 4 pm. Took him for quite the ride being followed by a boat tender. Finally had to sink the tender a little to float the fish into the tender at about 8: pm.

Jay died almost two years ago this coming May. He was an outstanding lifeguard in both Australia and Laguna Beach Calif. I think about him every day.
