I never eat at anyone's house but my own. It's not that I won't... I'm must never invited to eat anywhere. I don't eat at restaurants often at all (maybe once a month) but when I do, I always eat what's on my plate because I only order what I like and don't order stuff I DON'T like. DUH. When my kids were young, I taught them to have a "no thank you" helping, which amounted to 1-2 teaspoons in case it was a food they didn't like it. There are lots of reasons for people not to like certain foods. For my autistic/adhd grandson, he is sensitive and particular about the texture of food as much as he is the smell and taste of it. He is not open to tasting or trying new foods at all. He doesn't eat a wide variety of foods in any of the food groups so it can be a real challenge to feed him. He's been this way since he was a toddler.
Oh... add olives to my "ewwww" list.
