That Idiot CEO Eddie Lampert drove them off the cliff. My Dad worked for SEARS from 1960-2000. Aside from not getting on board with on line shopping, SEARS could have held their own by just maintaining CUSTOMER SERVICE and standing by their products (Craftsman!) Dad said as far back as the late 80s that SEARS was drastically getting away from that and just trying to make a buck by REALLY pushing Credit Cards on Customers. That became their #1 one goal. Even more than Sales???? Drove my Dad and other Veteran Employees nuts. Even in the Internet Shopping age, Dad always said that people like to actually SEE a product or get some input on a product. SEARS SHOULD have done that with option to buy the product on line and delivered. Personally, I have always thought that too much Riff Raff at Malls helped set back stores like SEARS and Penneys. I HATE going to the Mall where my Dad used to work. Too many D Bag Juveniles.
