Every opening and closing ceremony has celebrity performers, usually they are performers who have some connection to the host country so I have no problem with that. I completely understand why Celine Dion was chosen to perform in the opening ceremonies. She's French-Canadian. However, I didn;t get the connection with Lady Gaga to understand why SHE performed. She did that can-can/speakeasy number and she's got GREAT legs.
