We visited the battlegrounds and I rented the movie. I don't think we were going to watch it until I told the wife I rented it... and then she couldn't stand wasting the money.
Other than Martin Sheen's portrayal of Lee and a few other nitpicks... I thought it was pretty well done. But I'm not a history buff or anything so my opinion, in the words of Granny Hawkins, "is worth doodley-squat".
