Whitey Herzog is one of the Cardinals Legends... guys inducted into the Cardinals Hall of Fame, wear red sports jackets for various events and come back for the Opening Day festivities every year. Whitey was at opening day at Busch Stadium on April 4, but for the first time, he didn't enter the stadium in a convertible like the other legends did and do every year. Whitey was sitting in the stands with family so the camera simply panned to him when they called his name and introduced him to the fans. He was frail and you could just tell... he didn't have long. It was the same way with Stan Musial, Lou Brock, and Mike Shannon. Those guys are so special to St. Louisan's. Even though you know it may be the last time to ever see them, you're just glad you got to see them one more time on Opening Day.
