No not the MLB Angels. At the time the Los Angeles Angels were a farm team for the Chicago Cubs and played in the Pacific Coast League at a ballpark in southeast L.A. (Watts) named "Wriggley Field which was a minature version of the great 'Cub ballpark in Chicago-ivy on the outfield walls, etc.. The great Yankees came to L.A for an exhibition game and we rode our bikes to the park. No cost to get in.
What I remember most was in the late innings the Yankees replaced DiMaggio with a rookie who limped up to the plate obviously injured and n pain. You might have heard of him-his name was Mickey Mantle.
