That little pier is still there or at least parts of it is. There also was a hot dog stand at the pier's base-operated by an attractive woman. Her last name was Hopps. I knew her husband, Frank. They were both excellent surfers and were responsible for negotiating with the Camp Pendelton to open up the beaches near there for surfing right after the end of WW2. Before the breakwater was built for Dana Point Harbor they used to get monster waves rolling in from the point at the north side of the harbor.
