I saw them on this tour. In San Francisco but I cant recall the arena. Journey was the opening band and Steve Perry had just come one board. Not many people had heard of them, or of him. Months later everyone had a Journey tape.
In 9th grade I first heard Brain Salad Surgery. I listened to classical music most of my life because my parents both both loved that and the stereo was always on. They could stack six albums at a time and one would play after another. Over and over, and over. they had about 500 or so albums, maybe more. I've heard all of the greats, and the classical bests.
I was a bad kid, a real bad troublesome one. And violent. So they sent me out to SF to get me away from the bad influences back home. I lived with my grandmother for three months. What great memories.
I saw them this same summer, my late father agreed to pay for the ticket.
He wasnt just our father, he was the head of the family with a purpose.
