Was the head maintenance guy for the firetrucks in town for 30 years.. Now he volunteers helping keep the Firetruck Museum trucks from the 20'3 and 30's running in parades and special events.. We used to ride on them all the time and he ALWAYS tried to get me to drive one, but I'd always tell him, "let me practice somewhere else alone.. ".. I don't wanna drive a 40-50 foot truck for the first time down streets lined with people.. I drive a stick all day, but driving and turning something that big with a stick in crowded streets didn't sound like a good idea..
