I learned to drive standing on the floorboard of '52 Chevy Pickup so I could reach the clutch. 
Not sure how old I was when I learned to drive but it was very young. That's common a farm. Every man man age, or near it, was driving before they were 10.... I'd 'guess'' I was 8 or so.
