We had three Silos at the entrance to the subdivision. I remember seeing those Silos when I was 9 years old and they were in a field all alone. When we built our house, we had an extension to our patio done. The guy who ran the Concrete place said he helped build those Silos when he was a teen. He said they were working on the Silos with a radio on when the news of JFK being shot broke. I always enjoyed seeing them standing there. BUUUUUUUUUT "progress" came along. They tore them down for.....GASP!!!.....a strip mall. I remember playing catch with a football with my oldest Son, who was about 4-5 at the time. We could hear the metal crashing in the distance, as the tractors did the deed. I was bummed. I love old landmarks.
