can you give me a model number? I thought earlier I saw one on Amazon but careful reading doesn't mention crosshair mode.

A laser would work in some light, but wouldn't provide any other light for targets in the dark. For the most part, hunting in the dark would be illegal, so I'm thinking if anything it's a tactical feature.

Not sure why you would need crosshairs to know what your flashlight is pointing at.... at the same time though, I've never heard an LEO or anyone who does tactical training suggest a flashlight with crosshairs. There is some controversy over having a light mounted on your weapon vs. holding a flashlight separately, but no one has ever mentioned the flashlight as a sighting system.

You may be right, it might not have anything to do with guns. I spend probably a few hours a day reading about guns, and I've never heard of it. I'll let you know what comes up on the shooting forum.
