I have asked several friends.... some of them avid hunters, most of them the 'outdoors' type, and NONE of them have a clue.

I don't think it's just to attract people who want the latest thing because they don't advertise it... AT ALL. Nothing about it, not even in the user manual.

But I do think you're in the ballpark... maybe it's there just because 'they can', and there is no functional reason for it at all? - JamesJM
