the artistry old film makers could come up with in a Black and White Film. Some of those old movies, many actually, astound me.
Citizen Kane, for example... I can well understand people hating the movie, the story, but the cinematography in that movie rival the greatest art ever created.
There ARE color movies as creative and masterful.... but I don't think a very high percentage.
And my biggest complaint:
Film makers, both movies and TV, go with 'fads'. Not long ago it was that 'grainy' look that annoyed the hell out of me. Currently it's the 'yellow filter'... it's everywhere, and I detest it. I was into a Brit murder mystery TV show recently... I think "Death in Paradise"... very good show... but they are in "Paradise".... bright and vibrant colors and they filmed every episode with that damn yellow filter.
Of course, I'm an old curmudgeonly cranky old man now so you really shouldn't go by me.
