water and land, if I remember correctly.. in the waiting area I do remember a glass floor so you could see the fish in the lagoon - very common for overwater bungalows and other structures in French Polynesia.. In Rangi, we stayed in a beach front cottage, but in Bora bora both times we had overwater bungalows that had multiple floor windows so you could see the fish..
In 2016 we stayed 2 weeks in Bora and it rained non-stop 13 out of 14 days.. We had a little Black Tip that lived under our bungalow that I nicknamed Blackie.. I would go to the breakfast buffet and swipe a few sausages.. then I'd tie one with string to the ladder from the bungalow deck into the lagoon.. we'd go diving and EVERY time we came back the sausage was gone.. So, I kept a juvenile Black Tip happy for two weeks lol
in 2006 in Rangi I lost a fin getting back into the inflatable dive boat.. the current and waves were INSANE outside the lagoon - most divers were getting sick as we were in 6 foot waves in a 12 foot boat, trying to put on gear and whatnot.. I never did find that fin which may have floated around the world by now.. Luckily Scuba Pro let me buy one fin to replace it. amazing, right?
Thank you for the kind words.. Scenic beach photography is one of my biggest, most favorite hobbies.. My best pics ever were from the 2006 Bora Bora/Rangi trip.. the best ones are blown up poster sized and framed all over our house.. Hafta get back there before I bite it.. it is one amazing place..
