Your photos bring back many pleasant memories of our trips to Rangi. Your right about the current through or out of the pass. We would hold onto the rope behind our little boat to carry us through. If you recall there is-or was-a sweet little restuarant where it sits on pilings so you can see down through the glass (?) bottom floor and see all the fish. Then of course there was the polynesian dancers outside. Not sure if they still have them. One of the dancers was the husband of my Tahitian dive buddy .Together we speared plenty of little fish-nothing big in the lagoon-that he supplied the Kia Ora restaurant. Cool guy. I left a pair of long fins for him when we left the final time we were there.
