I mean as far as personnel changes. Who the 3rd CB, 2nd TE, etc. is, where we draft a RB, etc. To me that all gets in line WAY behind significant upgrades to the OL and pass rush.
Defensively, anything the Rams want to do better on defense in 2023 cascades from having a better pass rush. And I do think part of why the secondary has played softer coverage has been them recognizing they can't get to the QB. I was one who believed coming into the season that the trio of Hollins, Lewis and Garrett could be roughly 70% of what Von Miller produced and I was very wrong. It wasn't a minor downgrade, it was a gaping hole.
And look at ILB. That was easily the Rams weakest position on defense a year ago and it's been massively upgraded with Wagner and Jones. They're probably one of the best ILB duos in the league. Bus as we've seen, without a consistent pass rush I won't say it doesn't matter but the impact overall isn't felt as much as it could be.
Same with the idea of adding another RB in the spring. For one, maybe Akers is the guy (with Williams) for 2023. But mainly, until the OL is noticeably upgraded- who cares?....
