the hit caused commotio cordis. basically, hit in the chest at just the right time. Causing cardiac arrest.
She said they would immediately intubate him, which was confirmed. At the hospital, she is guessing they induced hypothermia, which buys time for the heart to heal. She's guessing at 48 hrs they will start warming him up. And just an FYI, he's in a coma, not just sedated. This is all standard procedure.
Her concern is the 4 min. it took to get his heart restarted.
Just thought I'd share what Ronna was sharing with me for those concerned.
