Robinson's contract and future

December 28, 2022 05:26AM
It would be hard- not impossible- to move on from him contract-wise in 2023. They cannot outright release him this spring. They could trade him before or after June 1st. But of course a trade takes two, and I'm not sure who would find his $10M base salary per year and $11M in roster bonuses over the next two years attractive.

I think they are better off trying to salvage him for 2023 and, with a better OL and running game, creating more opportunities for him. He was noticeably better in his last 5 games (21 catches, 232 yards, 2 TD, 72.4% catch rate) than he was in the first five (12 catches, 107 yards, 1 TD, 52% catch rate).

In 2024 they could, if they want, move on cleanly from himand save $10.15M in the process.

  Nope. I believe that AR’s numbers are a result of a coaching/Stafford ‘problem’…

Best way to approach this one

merlin235December 27, 2022 04:55PM

  I see no reason why McVay/Stafford can’t maximize AR’s production in ‘23…
