I think you are seeing what I am seeing that Mayfield executes this offense better and that is why 9ers have been successful. They have QBs that execute the offense. Drew Breeze executed the Saints offense. The key to being special is the ability to lead and to be insynch with the expectations and holding teamates accountable. I am not saying Stafford is not a leader but I am saying he does not bring out the best in McVay and it detracts from the system and McVays overall vision of his offenses potential. I believe Baker can elevate with less and with more Stafford is elevated so we have a happy medium with Baker both in talent and scheme that falls between our best and worse with Goff and our best and worse with Stafford. Baker's intelligence and Charisma are an on field compliment to Sean McVays sideline influence. Baker is undaunted and unaffected by the nuances of the Game and Game plan. He will tap into the resources available and allow the coach not to flench when a player is down or the OL is struggle. I think that McVay has deferred to Stafford elevate the game and take over rather than rely on the game plan and we got half-baked results. Mayfield brings out the best in this offense and I would never have believed that possible without seeing it myself. I have not wavered on my perception of Stafford byut my perception of Mayfield is forming a clear vision of what we could be offensively.
