coming into the game, one of the top D's in the league and Sean's plan had worked the same or similar to what the broncos put out there for this game I'd be all over how his plan worked to a T. Now you can say it worked to a T anyway as they put up 44 points, but that 44 was due to 2 short fields (you don't game plan that), a 55 yd. FG (you don't game plan that)....the run game worked against the (I think) at the time #5 run D. The week before we got 156 total yards against a very poor D especially on the run, we got what...40 yards? Point I am making is the broncos D had no desire, our line took advantage of that non desire. Was that part of the game plan? To play hard?
Everything in that game came together as a perfect storm.....who knows they may have been able to pass all over them and not run at all and still blew them out.....I really saw no actual game plan in that game that they did not try in other games, this game they made holes to run through, this game they kept the QB clean, this game the guys caught the balls instead of dropping them. This game the guys caught the interceptions.......This game they executed in all areas, the broncos were playing like in 3 feet of mud. It's not like Sean never called these plays in other games...this game though it was like playing against air.....everything works against air.
Not taking away the coaching, this game could have been the worst game of the year a 14-10 or worse game loaded with punts and mistakes on both sides.....I give a lot of credit to Sean for keeping the blood flowing on his team....he has done that very well this year with hit after hit knocking them down.....all the praise to that, IMO that is what showed up last Sunday more so then a great game plan.
