As I understand it it's the amount of sight adjustments that are required, not the number of plays, that makes McVay's offense complex.
WRs, for example, may have 2 or more routes that they can run depending on how the defense deploys post snap. And on that play the QB has to make the same read as the WR in order to deliver the ball on time and to the right spot.
