Re: Offensive coordinator Liam Coen on Baker Mayfield's improvement

Why is our offense so complicated? Seems the best teams in history had just a few plays that they did do well the defenses couldn't stop them. The ED years it was pitch left or pitch right. Hadley had one season where he threw a ton of bombs to Harold Jackson. There was the automatic third down throws to Holohan. And last year Stafford would throw it to our triple crowner like every play and it was unstoppable.
Do we really need a 75 play handbook where we run 75 different plays? When the Skins had the Hogs they ran counter trey like every play.
Nobody could stop them. Lombardi's Packers ran the same running play until it was stopped. It wasn't. Sometimes I think we overthink this sport. It is about superior talent and execution. Much more so than fooling people. Looks like we fool ourselves. Keeping the fastest guy in the team on the bench for half the season is a prime example.
