Just ignore him.
He make some valid points, but many invalid points... sort of what the "fan" sees vs insider knowledge.
One point he made, which I can see is probably the usage of Rapp... but I have a different view on that.
Coming out of college, I thought he would play a Cam Chancellor role in a Cover 3 Buzz system.
However, I never got a close up, in person view of his physique... like his bone density, frame.. how much more weight he could put on.
After a few years in the NFL, it is evident he doesn't have the size and frame to support that.
He's too small to play that position. And then he's too slow to play coverage.
So you have this undersized guy who looks to have a football brain... he seems to be there at the play, but just doesn't have that forcible hit to make the receiver drop the ball.
The question though is, is the backup better? The back up may have the frame, but they may not be in the right position. They may not read the play right. So then, you've got someone that can maybe knock a receiver, but he's not there to be able to do that, because he's a step late, out of position. So pick your poison with the talent/personnel you have. This is more of a front office issue in my opinion.
Some advanced stats on Rapp: his average depth of target allowed is 3.9 yards... that's pretty crazy. Morris is using him on the underneath patterns close to the line. Now this is where size/tackling comes into play.. his missed tackle rate is 12%.. which is not at Troy Reeder level but still high. So yeah, like Oldnotdead said.. you could have him be rangy (which I think he is anyway since Morris has him on underneath patterns)... but he's no Cam Chancellor. He doesn't deliver the big hits and intimidation you need for that type of FS oldnotdead is asking for.
