I think it’s a matter of damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t

If my memory serves we castigated McVay after last season’s regular season finale against the Niners because he let them score right before the half. Here’s where my memory is vague. I think he went for a fourth down at the 50 and didn’t convert with a minute to go till half time. Then he was too aggressive. The Niners scored before the half and the momentum clearly changed.
