I was fine with the Rams' OL depth plan coming into the year

They had Jackson, a rising swing tackle. Shelton basically backing up center. Anchrum as the top backup at OG. Bruss, the rookie 3rd rounder, waiting in the wings as the 8th OL.

Unfortunately that depth vanished.

That requires bottom-of-the-roster/PS guys like Kolone, Evans (who I don't think would have made the team had Bruss not got hurt), Arcuri, Brewer, etc. to elevate. Not ideal... And even signing veterans off the street like Aboushi and Skura.

Hopefully they can weather this, getting Edwards back this week, Allen in another week or 2, Shelton after that.

You brought up a point I have ALWAYS wondered about...... "3.5 per play"
