WHY are teams so scared of that?? Using runs to the outside, Jet Sweeps, quick slants or just a bust up the middle. If 3.5 is the goal of the O, that HAS to put an EXTREME amount of pressure on a D. Even if the O line is struggling. Offenses make it so easy on Ds when they try to MAKE a 30 yard pass happen on 1st or 2nd down. Now... I'm not saying to never go deep. Just saying making the goal of 3.5 per play is a TON of strain off the O and a HELLUVA lot of pressure on the D. AAAAND.....It opens the door wide open for an occasional deep route.
