Only speculating how he got here. Coordinators go after former players all the time - we both know of former coaches here who have taken players they were familiar with.
My thought was that Morris may have seen this guy's potentIal in the past, thought maybe he might be ready to mature, had a heart-to-heart, and suggested he could help the Rams. That's all.
However it came down, who said what, my best guess is that it was a mutual decision where Morris had plenty of input. As far as going after Morris is concerned, I admire and respect his giving a marginal player a (maybe final) opportunity. Tak is no doubt on a short leash and knows it.
Please re-read my last sentence - suggesting that if he's ready to grow, buy into Ram culture (We not me) he could gain some footing and change the trajectory of his NFL career, and his life.
In the aalternative, McVay and Snead could have said "How about this guy? We know you've had a past history," and Morris could have vetoed.
All speculation - but likely that Morris knows his potential and was willing to take a chance, and from that, Snead/McVay pulled the trigger.
