Ugly game, obviously .... but I think we saw some promising things. And the ability to win ugly is important.
That said, Kupp catches the deep ball or Akers gets the ball across before it gets knocked out, and this game isn't close.
The Great1) Having practice squad and 5th DBs come in and ball.
2) Ramsey getting his hands on how many ... 5 passes?
3) Terrell Lewis' sack looked like he did in college.
The Good4) Powell usage. Kid makes 2-3 people miss every time he touches the ball.
5) Akers looking more comfy. I have no issue with the fumble, he had 2 hands on the ball and was going for the kill shot.
6) The Benny Skow completion, complete with Tutu atwell dragging his guy deep.
7) Higbee playing solid yet again.
8) Run blocking.
9) Seeing Takk McKinley generate pressure (holding call).
10) Gaines ... just being an overall beast.
11) Hoecht getting his paws on a punt.
12) Having Blanton back.
13) Hats off for sack 100.
14) I love it when Kyler makes the sad face. I also love it when he falls down in front of Donald.
The Bad15) Kliff, you kick the FG there. I know he's not our coach, but that 4th and 4 call was bad.
16) Feel like I want to see more from Bobby.
17) Dortch and Ertz were more open than I'd have expected.
18) The fact that these guys may be hot late with R Moore and D Hopkins when they get back.
19) Kupp missing that beautiful pass. I know he catches it 9/10 times, but it was such a good ball.
20) Is Floyd playing hurt?
College21) The transfers make everything insane. Announcers are doing what looks like royal ancestry tracing with these players the first half of the game. Overall I believe it's good for the players and the game, but it makes my job harder.
22) There are a few 1st round RBs, which will devalue the position the rest of the draft, I'm a fan of that.
23) Kansas is good. Weird. So is Washington State.
Questions and comments welcome.
