As noted in the article, Skowronek is 6'3", 224 lbs.
The article has three videos where Skow is blocking. His three guys:
#29, Casey Hayward: CB, 5'11", 192 lbs.
#28, Mike Ford: CB, 6'0", 194 lbs.
#23, Eric Harris: S, 6'2", 225 lbs.
Aren't these the same types of players he'd be blocking if he was lined up as a WR?
To me it seems that lining Skow up at FB created mismatches in the passing game (e.g., being covered by #92, Adetokunbo Ogundeji: LB, 6'4", 268 lbs., 4.80 in the 40) and gave the Falcons something else to think about while still putting Skow in position to succeed as a blocker. Color me impressed.
