Wolford is no Stafford but he CAN run the O that McVay prefers. He can go through more progressions. He can better read D’s.
He reportedly has a stronger arm this year and has taken a step forward this year.
I think Wolford is more likely to win a few games than Perkins if Stafford gets hurt.
Wolford CLEARLY is McVay’s choice for backup QB this year. That’s indisputable.
Perkins is a gifted scrambling QB, but is that what we’re looking for? Don’t be dazzled by the dramatic scrambling while ignoring the poor important fundamentals. That’s what I did last year but now I’ve wised up.
