Agreed! Did you also notice that even though it's typically done on SB rings, on this one there was no nod to the franchise's previous Super Bowl win?
Most teams have some kind of tally on the ring showing how many Championships they've won, usually in the number of Lombardi trophies on the ring..
Not the LA Rams. Why not?
What's sad to me is that the St Louis Rams are acknowledged only when it's convenient or when talking about GSOT elevated the franchise
which it absolutely did BEFORE the McVay era. I understand fully that times are different now and that McVay et al are in a league all their own by comparison.
However, history is history and you can't pretend it didn't happen just 'cause of some personal grudge. Some people say there's no LA Rams and there's no St Louis Rams.... there's just the Rams. That's not really true. It depends on the situation. There are times when fans and even the Rams org itself would just as soon erase the St Louis Rams from Rams history. Isn't that kinda what they did in the new ring design by only having one Lombardi trophy depicted? It feels like "who needs SB 34 now that there's SB 56". Omitting that little slice of history from the ring felt like a dis... subtle, but it was there..
Just sayin'.
