Streaming TV is of course the path forward.
I cut DirecTV a few months ago after over 20 years of service. The price became obnoxious, and like so many the reason I chose it at the time was NFL Sunday Ticket. But, it really isn't needed any longer to see nearly every game I want to. And, with the Game Pass from NFL, for a mere $100 a year, I can see any and every game after only a few hours after its completion. And have it at my fingertips, endlessly.
ATT went a long way to ruining DirecTV. They acquired it and almost overnight destroyed DirecTVs world class customer service. But, that is the modern era ATT with everything they touch. Wouldn't buy anything from them ever. Terrible company.
Still, the way this will work will, in the long run, no doubt increase revenue for the world's best sports enterprise of all time...the NFL. Owners and players will just get richer and richer.
I cut a 20 year relationship with Direct a couple of years ago, as well, for much the same reasons.
But I live in the greater LA area so get all Ram games live which made it much easier.
I will put in a plug for Dish, btw. Much better price, customer service, and their DVR’s are miles ahead of Direct. My brother made the switch ahead of me and raved about Dish. He wasn’t wrong. Check it out, y’all.
