Streaming TV is of course the path forward.
I cut DirecTV a few months ago after over 20 years of service. The price became obnoxious, and like so many the reason I chose it at the time was NFL Sunday Ticket. But, it really isn't needed any longer to see nearly every game I want to. And, with the Game Pass from NFL, for a mere $100 a year, I can see any and every game after only a few hours after its completion. And have it at my fingertips, endlessly.
ATT went a long way to ruining DirecTV. They acquired it and almost overnight destroyed DirecTVs world class customer service. But, that is the modern era ATT with everything they touch. Wouldn't buy anything from them ever. Terrible company.
Still, the way this will work will, in the long run, no doubt increase revenue for the world's best sports enterprise of all time...the NFL. Owners and players will just get richer and richer.
