McVay doesn't play starters in preseason. But if he's not a lock yet as a starter, does he play? You can make a very good argument that he should get game reps.
Clearly they
want him to start. They have him
penciled in to start. But he won't be handed anything. Anchrum or Shelton could very well earn the week 1 job.
Edwards did not start until week 7 of his rookie year in 2019 and then came in and played well overall. Bruss is a better prospect than Edwards was I think. But again he might not start week 1. And if not it's not a knock against the kid's future at RG.
