Look all of us will always love the traditional Ferragamo's if you will, however, the younger crowd loves the colors and the old guard got something back with the throwbacks, but the helmet even with the lack of the full horn seems highly regarded by the new kids on the block.
I get why it would be more popular with the younger crowd. The younger you are, the less likely you are to care about "tradition". They have no "history" to cling to or care about.
I also get why they wanted to market to a younger crowd. It makes sense when you are trying to rebuild or create a new fanbase. If you can "hook 'em" at a young age, you can have a fan for a long time!
My gripe is that they could have only done "tweaks" without having to neuter the horn and the "younger crowd" would still have been become fans as long as they win. Without "winning" there won't be as many new fans of the product.
I would love to see data supporting that some small "tweaks" wouldn't have been just as effective.
My biggest issue is the helmet horn. The design of it should never have been altered like it has. IMO, changing the horn color, thickness or texture would have been fine. The ICONIC design of the horn and place it has in NFL history, NOT just Rams history, should never have been broken or neutered.

“Well, the color is good, I like the metallic blue,” Youngblood recently said while laughing, via NFL Journal. “The horn is terrible. It looks like a ‘C.’ When I first saw it on the logo I honestly thought it was a Charger logo.
“Now when I see it on the helmet, it just isn’t a ram horn. There is no distinct curl like a mature ram horn. I don’t know how the Rams could get that wrong. That is your symbol and it has been for what? Seventy years or more? Longer than I have been alive? It’s just not us, it’s not the Rams.”---Mr. Ram Jack Youngblood
