You're right. He was a major factor and I don;t want to dismiss that at all.
Miller had 9.0 sacks, 18 TFL and 14 QB hits in 12 games with the Rams (including postseason). 611 snaps total. And he turned it up a notch in the postseason...
Lewis and Hollins
combined had 5.0 sacks, 5 TFL and 4 QB hits in 590 snaps during the regular season.
Part of what the Rams absolutely need is for Garrett to step up and contribute. Lewis can but I don't count on him (health-wise) for more than 300 snaps. So it has to be a rotation there. I do just think that combined they can give them enough on that side that, along with the ILB situation going from liability to strength, the front seven overall can be just as good. Perhaps in a bit of a different way.
I'm not against adding another resource on the Edge. But I am against doing it
right now. I absolutely think they should roll with what they have through training camp and maybe into October and make a decision from there. Perhaps, if they have a need and see an opportunity, Rapp could be part of a trade. I'm just not giving up a day 2 2023 pick for a 32 year old guy with a $13M salary. I don't think that's the path to take. Just my opinion.
