I hope the Rams enter the season with what they have and go from there. Evaluate needs around week 6-7.
And also, I don't call Quinn's $12.8M in 2022 (and $26.7M over the next two years) "bargain basement." At least, it's not for the Rams...
I hear ya, 93, but I’m kinda conflicted.
On the one hand the wait-and-see approach makes a ton of sense. I mean, Rams seem loaded with ‘potential’ at Edge opposite Floyd. There could be one or more studs in waiting for their ‘22 opportunity. Then again, maybe none can really sufficiently beast out for health reasons (Lewis, again) or simply lack of NFL talent. Even then a tier 2 solid vet should be available.
OTOH, we are in a SB window of unknown length and Rams know it. Snead/McVay have a history of seizing elite type talent when it becomes available and with excellent results. Ramsey, Miller, and OBJ come to mind recently. Why would Quinn logically not be a possible target for this years SB run? No question that he is a difference maker if brought aboard. Snead/McVay love play making difference makers and so do I.
I would love to see the expression on Shanahan and Pete Carroll’s faces if Rams pulled this off. Lol.
Honestly, I would not be the least surprised if they acquired Quinn and would also understand if they don’t even try.
Like I said, I’m conflicted.
