You know guys like Kupp and Woods, Stafford. Higbee and Floyd and Ramsey....and all the other Rams that were there before Miller and are staying after him. Where is the loyalty to them? Are they not good enough for this same kind of want to play with them? Von took the money and ran...that's how loyal he was to you AD and now you're gonna let that rule the day with you and your real teammates? I sure hope not.
Makes me wonder why he was so in need of Miller coming back when the guys he has bled the most with are still there and didn't retire.
Big Whit retired to be with his kids at 40, AD after 16 seasons, not half that at 8 seasons and age 30 in his prime.
I love Donald and the Rams wouldn't even be close to the same team without him...but what the heck is going on?
We all love our kids, we all have to work and travel for work at times, most of us work year-round 9-5. I know Pro football players are "working" a ton of time if they want to be great.
How many of us would like to make that kind of money for playing a game we all love and be able to retire forever at age 35 or so? All of us. If I could go to the gym every day because that was my job to be in shape I would love it..yep year-round and then put in heavy work from July through February to make a great living playing a game? Count me in.
If he chooses to retire at 30 more power to him, I can't begrudge him doing something I would have loved to have done. How can you fault a man for wanting to be at home with his wife and kids, he has the money and has accomplished everything there is to do in Pro Football.
Here is the thing and I think this is what will end up helping him decide....You're playing a kid's game and once it's gone it's gone, you're the best of the best and the accolades and fans love and respect you get are addicting. Once you retire or stop playing it's gone and it's over.
Unlike AD most of us will work until we are 65 while raising kids and helping with our Grandkids and spending time when we can at the lake or out to dinner or parties and whatever else...and we all seem to do just fine for the most part.
