These are the three ILBs on the Rams roster:
Ernest Jones is 6'2", 230 lbs
Travin Howard is 6'1", 219 lbs (technically he's an ERFA, but he can only sign with the Rams)
Christian Rozeboom is 6'2", 230 lbs
These are the only two linebackers the Rams have on Reserve/Future contracts. I assume they are also ILBs:
Antoine Brooks Jr. is 5'11", 210 lbs
Anthony Hines III is 6'3", 226 lbs
In what way have the Rams moved on?
(Troy Reeder was definitely a different breed at 6'3", 245 lbs. But he's currently a free agent who the Rams opted not to tender.)
I'm guessing merlin was mostly focusing on physical traits over size metrics. He probably was isolating Jones physicality vs previous LB's the Rams drafted/acquired prior to him.
I don't think he was lumping Howard in with Jones because Howard began his career with the Rams in 2018.
I could be wrong but that's what took from his post. We won't know for sure unless merlin responds.
