If the Rams wanted Boom it would have happened by now. At least it would have seemed like a priority by now. Whit hanging around this time feels to me like they're going to have him on hold while they either chase a LT on the market or try to reload the OL with younguns from the depth chart. In both those approaches having Whit as a fallback is enormously valuable.

And also to be honest I'm done underestimating Whit. After the 2020 season he looked done to me but he bounced back with a far better 2021. So at this point whatever he wants to do is fine by me.

Disagree about Rams already deciding on Boom, Merlin.

Not one FA extension has been officially made as yet. I think a Whit retirement and a Boom extension is very likely, tbh. Almost makes too much sense.
