The late fall winds (and sometimes fires) issue isn't going away and they can't continue to have practices disrupted. I've always thought it bizarre that they have simply maintained the literal temporary facilities (trailers, etc.) that they built in 2016 five years later.

Woodland Hills is close enough that players who are settled (or want to) in the Thousand Oaks area can get there easily. I'm a little surprised the Rams didn't go the El Segundo route previously. Proximity to the stadium, etc.

The Rams will have plenty of space to build an indoor practice field for those windy and rainy days.


I think they put more emphasis on the quality of the area where they're building the facility, rather than proximity to the Stadium. After all, they only go to the Stadium for 10-12 days a season, depending on the playoffs.

Both Thousand Oaks and Woodland Hills are in the suburbs of LA. Housing is a little more affordable there, it's better for players/coaches who have kids, and it's further away from places where players might get into trouble.
