OK...after reading the actual LA Times article, I now understand the area where they're talking about (i.e. the old mall area as opposed to Canoga & Victory).
It's been awhile since I was last on that property. Hard to imagine from memory that it was that big to hold an NFL practice facility (i.e. 2 - 3 practice fields, lockers, fan parking, etc.). And traffic on Topanga WOULD DEFINITELY be an issue.
They're looking at buying 34 acres. The Chargers facility is 14 acres.
The Rams will have all the room they need to build whatever they want.
I've lived here in the Valley for most of my life, so I know it well.
The Rams facility will literally be about a mile from the 101 freeway Topanga exit, where most of the players/coaches will be exiting from to get there. They also have the option of exiting on Canoga Ave. Topanga will be busy, but it won't be a big issue. It's not like a stadium full of people will be going there and they only have to drive a mile on it.
The players will hate the heat more than anything. Woodland Hills and the West Valley are the hottest parts of LA.
