7. I'm expecting that Andrew Whitworth will retire, and Joe Noteboom seems like the obvious heir apparent at the LT spot. It will be interesting to see what his market value is, as he is a UFA. If his price goes up enough, I wonder if the Rams might consider using the franchise tag on him, which would solidify the position in the short term and put him in a "prove it" season.

8. On the interior OL, I wonder if we can afford to re-up with both Austin Corbett and Brian Allen. If the answer is "no," I feel like there will be prospects in the 3rd or 4th round of the draft who can step in and fill the role.

Good read & thought provoking. Here are a couple of the thoughts it provoked ...

About #7: I am seldom sure of anything, but one thing I am sure of: the Rams will not tag Noteboom. The franchise tag price for offensive linemen in 2022 is $16.5M, and if the Rams tag him that $16.5M is immediately charged against the cap. I hope the Rams keep Boom, but 1.) he is not a $16.5M a year player and 2.) the Rams will not absorb that kind of cap hit.

Some will think the Rams might tag him just to retain negotiating rights, but if I'm Boom I simply sign the offer sheet and collect $16.5M for the 2022 season. The Rams can't risk that, even if they do choose to take up $16.5M with the tag.

About #8: The Rams could lose Allen or Corbett or both, but their replacements are already on the roster (from among this group: Chandler, Pircher, Anchrum, Kolone, Shelton, DJackson, AJackson, Evans). I can see the Rams drafting OL, perhaps even in the 3rd or 4th, but those guys will just restock the pipeline for a role down the road.

IMO, the OL is the biggest area of concern in 2022. We were very fortunate to keep it healthy this year. It’s amazing to me how they field a competitive OL without spending a high draft pick on it in 7 years.
